Sprint & Nextel Partners Reach Buyout Price

Sprint Nextel has agreed to purchase Nextel Partners for $6.5 billion in cash. The stock buyout will give Sprint full ownership of Nextel Partners, and will end the long-held standoff between Sprint and the iDEN affiliate. Upon regulatory approval, Nextel Partners customers will be able to switch to Sprint CDMA without paying an early termination fee.
