I had the same damn problem with the sd card so that jackass that said the software engineer is stupid someone should ask how is a software engineer stupid?! you sir are a genius.

my update completed @12AM this morning without a hitch. i even pulled the battery out while it was happening because i needed to make a call in the hopes the update would be cancelled after i powered it back up………… but it went straight back to updating (it was at 77% when i pulled it out, and was in the exact same place after i put it back in.) no issues with sd cards or anything. i guess my phone is just better than all of yours.

It fried my sd card. I can use any sd card it just fried the one I had in. I think the key is to not update with an SD card in.

There is no charge to update the phone, even if you do not have a data plan. It does not incur any data charges to update a phone over-the-air on Sprint.

My boyfriend has a LG Rumor and it will go at times were he don’t receive any text messages until he makes a call. If there anyway of fixing this. He already tried downloading the updates.

i also have the same issue with being unable to turn on the phone without removing the micro SD card. additionally, every time this happens the card’s memory is erased so i lose any pictures i took and saved to the card. i shouldnt have spent that 20 dollars on the memory card since i lose everything every time my battery dies! the rumor would be a cool phone if it weren’t for this bug.

this guy doesnt know anything. you think everyone with a micro sd card ill have that issue?? STUPID. just cuz you do doesnt mean i did.

No need to name call. Many of us are having that issue so Al is correct!! I cannot power up my Rumor (post update) with my SD card in. It will power up if I use an LG SD card but will NOT with the brand I used prior to the upgrade. If you research, you will see the same complaint.

My phone prompted me this morning (11-11-08) and the update appears to have been applied flawlessly. It also worked without incident on my wife’s Rumor.

What was the update for?
