Sprint has confirmed that it will directly launch the HTC Snap S511 Windows Mobile smart device on June 21st, after first launching via Radio Shack and Best Buy locations this week.
The S511 Snap was originally slated for a June 7th launch direct from Sprint, but the carrier made a last minute decision to postpone the launch in order to focus on the Palm Pre.
The HTC S511 Snap features nearly identical specifications as the GSM version with a QVGA landscape display, Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard, A-GPS dual band US CDMA EVDO Rev. A, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios, Qualcomm 7501a chipset with 256MB of RAM and 128MB of ROM running at 528 MHz, speakerphone, and 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder.
The Sprint version of the Snap will also feature an increase in battery capacity, with the 800mAH battery being swapped for a larger 1500mAH unit as well as HTC’s Inner Circle software which groups email by contact importance.
The S511 Snap is available now from Best Buy for $519.99 with no service agreement, or as low as $149.99 with new service agreement. The Snap is also available at Radio Shack for the same aforementioned terms.
