Sprint Updates LG Rumor Firmware Again (Updated)

For the second time in about a month, Sprint has issued a firmware update for the LG LX260 Rumor.

This update builds on the previous update, which fixed a scenario where holding the wrong sequence of buttons during startup permanently damaged the device.

This new update, V06, improves certain elements of the user interface. Specifically, it improves the text messaging process and interface.

To update your Rumor, go to Menu > Settings > Tools > Update Firmware

Update: This report was in-error, caused by a second wave of media bulletins of the initial LG Rumor V06 update. This is the same update that we broke the news on over three weeks ago.

Speedmaster - Your phone probably came with the update already.

I am trying to use the bitpim software with my LG LX260 Rumor but I cannot find that version of the phone on the list of phones to choose from on the bitpim software. Is there an update that allows it to work with bitpim? Or did the salesperson lie to me when he told me I could use bitpim with my new phone?
