Sprint has issued a firmware update for the Sanyo SCP-8500. The first firmware update for the Katana DLX brings the firmware version to 1.008SP. It is not known what the update changes specifically. The update does change the power-on and power-off logos matching the new Sprint Ahead campaign.
To update your SCP-8500, go to Menu > Tools > Update Phone.
