The PhoneNews.com Free Prepaid Phone Challenge
To start off the new year we’re going to make a challenge to you. To celebrate the launch of PhoneNews.com Cashback, we’re going to challenge you to take advantage of it.
We’re giving away Motorola W385 flip, camera phones to everyone in America. It even has built-in Bluetooth. All you have to do is buy it, fill out our simple request, and get a cash back for what you paid (yes, including shipping), within about a month.
Here’s how it works this time. The Motorola W385 has been slashed to a special price of $19.99, on prepaid. We’ll give you $10 cash back, and Verizon will match that with $10 of prepaid service credit. That makes the net cost of the phone itself (and overnight shipping) absolutely free.
To get your free prepaid phone, see the steps below:
1) Click this link to be taken to Verizon Wireless prepaid.
2) Pick any prepaid plan (there aren’t any contracts or commitments), and then chose the Motorola W385 (it’s the phone pictured above).
3) Check out, and then fill out the form below.
[contact-form 404 "Not Found"]Some notes about the challenge (terms, bullet points, etc):
* Shipping is included in the cost of the phone. Overnight shipping, no less.
* Verizon does charge a $25 activation fee on each prepaid phone. No, we don’t give cash back on the activation fee.
* You can order as many phones as you want on this deal. Unlike our last Free Prepaid Phone, there is no three phone cap.
* We mail/send out the free phone cash back, about 30 days after receiving your request. This is done only to prevent abuse.
* For other devices than the phone featured above, visit PhoneNews.com Cashback

[...] PhoneNews.com. They post a lot of hard-hitting stories about mobile phone industry. They are also trying to go ad-free by running a rather peculiar promotion–buy a refurbed Nokia 2610 from AT&T for $0.01 [...]
If the $1/day fee (on days the use the phone) is a deal-breaker, there is a flat rate $.25/minute plan as well.
Verizon hasn’t put it on their web site, but you can call *611 once you get the phone, to switch to it.
How can existing VZ Pre-pay customers get this phone at this price?
Is this only for new customers?
Please advise ASAP!
Phone itself is free but I hate having to pay the $25 activation fee. I wish they would let us activate it ourselves and avoid the fee.
“I wish they would let us activate it ourselves and avoid the fee.”
Sorry, they are not in the business to give out free phones. It ’s just a cost if you want the phone.
i never got charged for an activation fee
Nice deal, but,…. the Motorola W385 is not listed as a prepaid phone choice (as of today, 5-15-09)
Just thought I’d let you know, that I currently have a Motorola W385 activated as a prepaid phone (service carrier – PagePlus Cellular).
Would you PLEASE update your website? I just wasted time looking
over your “free” phone offer, only to find that Verizon no longer is
offering it. (Written 6-29-09)
