As expected, Verizon has launched their holiday sales flagship and gambit against the iPhone in the BlackBerry Storm.
The device features a 3.3 inch 480×360 HVGA resolution display, tri-mode CDMA 1xEVDO Rev. A, quadband GSM/EDGE, and 2100MHz HSDPA radio with support for international roaming via Vodafone networks around the world, Bluetooth with stereo audio support, 3.5mm headphone jack, 1GB of internal memory with additional expansion possible through a microSDHC expansion slot, HTML browser, media player with iTunes sync capability and Windows Media DRM support, active noise cancellation, GPS transceiver, microUSB port, and a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and video recorder.
The phone is now available for $499 Month-to-Month, $319.99 on a 1 year agreement, and $249.99 on a 2 year agreement before an additional $50 mail-in rebate, bringing the totals to $269.99 and $199.99 respectively.

I have tried the Storm for a couple of weeks and it seems to be a good product overall. There is, though, some hesitation sometimes while typing and on the browser.
Opera Mini works much faster which leads to my question: is there any plans by RIM to bring out a Service Pack or upgrade to deal with these software, memory -and other- problems? Thank you
