Verizon Recalling and Revising Storm 2 Due to Display Issues (Updated)

Verizon is actively working with RIM on a new hardware revision of the BlackBerry Storm2 in order to correct accuracy issues centered on the lower left corner of the SurePress touch display reported in a small number of units.

Verizon has ordered all stores to return existing pre-revision stock in order to receive the new units which include “silicone actuators to improve touchpad performance and tactile response” inside the piezo-actuated display hardware.

Customers with pre-revision BlackBerry Storm2 units are also able to exchange them for the revised model if reporting issues with the touch display.

Update: Verizon has responded to our reporting, which we have noted in a follow-up article.
