Joomla 1.5 is a failure in our view, it does not have key migratory functions like legacy backlink support. As such, any site that migrates from 1.0 to 1.5 will suffer devastating effects to their search engine rankings.
To put it another way, Joomla has decided to become an ideology, rather than a product. They are perpetually delaying major additions as they spite their open source faces. They have confused open source with not having a reliable business model, and their product has suffered in the lack of updates (even 1.5 is a shell of what the team promised it would be).
And, in a more specific view, Joomla has poor CPU optimization, poor page load times versus WordPress, no trackback system (Azrul's third-party component doesn't work), no comment system (Azrul's latest versions crash PhoneNews.com with our kind of load), and poor SEO initially (having to saddle it with several components just makes all of the above even slower).
Joomla is a failure, and the split has damaged Mambo enough too that it's time to move on from both, unless the two teams can settle their purely-political differences.

We’ve covered in-depth on our blog the reasons for the change. Using Wi-Fi routing on Windows Mobile has been a very complicated process. WMWifiRouter made it a one-click process. That's newsworthy.
WMWifiRouter fixed issues with Wi-Fi routing to the iPhone and iPod touch (which Windows Mobile natively has issues with). That's also newsworthy.
The application was updated to add official support for iPhone and iPod touch... on the eve of Macworld Expo. Any one of these three would make it a newsworthy report. And, to argue that it is a bias to iPhone, when we're reporting on a Windows Mobile application... doesn't make sense. We were simply pointing out some of the most demanded examples for the application, which you will see when you view discussion at the developer's web site.
The argument that we have a bias other than to the consumer is pathetic, and the last vestige of anti-consumer detractors we have been tackling with excellence since 2003. Wise up.
Finally, the change in look corresponds to the change in core publishing software, from Joomla to WordPress. We aren't just changing the look-and-feel... we've spent hundreds and hundreds of hours preparing and migrating... improving the page load times, SEO, comments, and finally look and feel to make PhoneNews.com the best name in wireless news yet again.

You’re raising many points, I’ll respond to them one at a time.

Using Wi-Fi routing on Windows Mobile has been a very complicated process. This site no matter how you dress it up and change the format of how the news gets to the viewer, its still biased how about we work on that for a change and leave the format alone.

I’m confused once again….many of us windows mobile users have been using this software for a while now so that we can use our phones as wifi routers to our laptops yet only when you guys see that it is useful with the IPHONE do you report on it? iPhone (and iPod touch) quite simply is one of the best mobile internet experiences. Combining that with mobile 3G access makes up for carrying around two devices (especially when many people do that anyways).
As an added bonus, it writes out AT&T from the equation, so you can have Apple+3G on Verizon, Alltel, Sprint, and eventually T-Mobile.

Most users find Safari to be much faster and more powerful than IE Mobile, or any other web browser on Windows Mobile today.

iPhone (and iPod touch) quite simply is one of the best mobile internet experiences. I have both phones and see it working but for what reason would I ever need the iphone to leech off the Mogul for. Edge sucks but its not worth killing the moguls battery for youtube..because there isnt much the iphone can do to start with.

Let me get this str8.
