  • XOHM Announces September 2008 Launch for Baltimore Area

In an email sent out to XOHM Insider subscribers, the forthcoming WiMax service provider has announced that the first market to launch with XOHM commercial service will be Baltimore, Maryland with Chicago, Illinois and Washington D.C. following soon after in an unspecified timeframe.

Network construction and deployment is still underway in Dallas/Fort Worth, Boston, Providence, and Philadelphia with no launch dates available at this time.

Sprint’s XOHM service had faced considerable criticism for its numerous delays and expense which were downplayed when both Sprint and Clearwire announced a joint venture which would be spun off into the new Clearwire with investment from Intel, Google, Time Warner, and Comcast earlier this year.
