PhoneNews.com has previously, and comprehensively covered Sprint’s intentions to partner with several companies for its XOHM WiMAX network. Now other news sources have re-reported this information, brining it back to the front page of the mass media.
We originally broke the news on Sprint’s intentions to use WiMAX, as well as their partnerships with Fiber and Cable operators. We then followed up, revealing Google’s role among other companies.
The Wall Street Journal has simply confirmed these findings, nothing new from our previous reports is considered “new” news to readers of PhoneNews.com. Their reporting enumerated Comcast, Time Warner, Google, and Intel as being Sprint network backers for WiMAX.
Intel has funded, at least in part, every WiMAX deployment through brokered discounts. This is akin to Qualcomm’s subsidizing the deployment of CDMA networks globally.

I tend to agree to the above poster. Saying “You saw it here first” does make it come off as being pompous and detracts from the overall article’s strength, that is, simply reporting on what is going on now and not continuously bragging about “Initially reporting it first”

We have to point out we did it first because we had the information before anyone else in the media even bothered to take a second look today. All of the info being reported by the Wall Street Journal is old and merely confirms our long held position and leadership on reporting news regarding 4G platforms.

We have consistently broken news of Sprint’s WiMAX coverage. This is not a particular event that we are promoting getting right, but rather, pointing out that the rest of the media is just catching up to where PhoneNews.com was a year ago.
