The first images of what is potentially the final prototype version of the forthcoming fourth generation iPhone have surfaced.
According to the images and information available, the styling of the device is a more mechanical flat tablet design with circular side mounted buttons and what looks to be an aluminum bodyshell. The rear backplate also clearly demonstrates the device’s status as a prototype version with a new flat shape and no discernible model or FCC ID number.
The device is also said to feature 80GB of internal storage which would follow Apple’s pattern of Flash storage increases in each successive generation and also features a front facing camera, lending further credence to the references of video calling in the current developer preview of the iPhone OS 4 SDK.
Update: More definitive proof has surfaced that the device pictured above is indeed the the next forthcoming version of the iPhone with the latest image posted above and shots of the individual parts demonstrating the larger display, front facing camera and new microSIM support posted at the Read More link.
