Skype competitor Fring, developers of the Fring VOIP application have announced its own outbound calling service with the new version of Fring for Android in FringOut, which was launched last month for Symbian as a pilot program. The FringOut service prices outgoing calls to landlines and mobile network calls as low as $.01 cents per minute, though the most expensive rate is a stunning 31.3 cents per minute to Alaska. Unlike Skype on Android (the Skype Mobile trademark is exclusive to Verizon) Fring on Android will allow calls over 3G/4G networks as well as Wi-Fi.
