Angry consumers have launched HTCClassAction.org, which is an attempt to make future buyers and users aware of the fact that HTC manufactured devices may be “grossly underperforming.” The website claims that HTC has neglected its customers by both “Not providing the necessary drivers to take full advantage of the device” and “Misleading the public through advertising what their products can do” The site also serves as a call-to-arms, giving details on what you can do as a consumer.
HTCClassAction.org also includes multiple video demonstrations that reveal HTC’s lack of development by comparing devices that were released two years ago to some of the their current and more recent offerings. All HTC devices based on the MSM7200 and the MSM7500 chipsets from Qualcomm are affected by this reduced potential. A list of devices can be found here.
On January 17th, HTC responded with a sorry and promise that they are going to fix the issues as soon as possible but other users seem to be getting the “no patches planned” e-mail.
