Speaking to Yahoo! Finance TechTicker, Elevation Partners investor Roger McNamee revealed more innovative features about the new webOS platform and how its complete integration can assist those that are either late, or can better prepare for a big meeting.
Beginning with the running late example, the Palm Pre can look at the input of the calendar and determine if the user is running late to the scheduled meeting. The device will then pull GPS assisted maps for the shortest route and even alert the other party if the aforementioned user will be late in arrival.
Ending with the presentation example, McNamee also elaborated on the device’s ability to precache maps for every destination listed in the calendar as to assist in having every location in the day mapped out and readily available in case of travel to an area with limited high-speed network access.
Both of the above features were not disclosed by Palm during CES, but they had been rumored soon after as more SDK details have surfaced.
