T-Mobile Launches Motorola ROKR E8

As expected, T-Mobile has launched the MOTOMAGX Linux-based Motorola ROKR E8 multimedia phone.

As we previously reported. the phone features a QVGA display with haptic feedback and Motorola’s ModeShift technology that works in three distinct modes of operation (Phone/Music/Imaging) without fixed hardware keyboards hindering functionality.

The complete featureset consists of quadband GSM/EDGE support, a 2.2 inch QVGA display, haptic touchpad with vibration feedback, 2GB of built-in flash memory with microSDHC expansion slot, FastScroll navigation wheel, and full support for Windows Media DRM and sync.

The phone also includes an FM radio with Song ID (RDS), 2.0 megapixel camera with video recorder, media player with support for MIDI, MP3, AAC, AAC+, Enhanced AAC+, WAV, AMR-NB, and Real Audio v10 playback, Bluetooth 2.0 with stereo audio support, CrystalTalk noise reduction technology, text to voice announcements, HTML web browser, and a 3.5mm standard headphone jack emphasizing the focus on music playback for the device.

The phone is now available from T-Mobile online for $249.99 after new 2 year agreement and $100 instant online discount before an additional $50 mail-in rebate, bringing the total to $199.99
