Nokia’s plan for “the next billion” in the Meltemi Linux platform has been dead for awhile, with Reuters being the latest to confirm its status as a dead initiative today.

Nokia’s CEO Steven Elop today, when asked about Nokia’s Linux phone efforts for the “next billion” did not leave any margin for hope.
