The confirmation follows HTC’s own confirmation of the update as being approved by the carrier earlier today with a tweet by an employee:
Boom! MT @moversi: HTC One Verizon Owners! We have received technical approval for the OS 4.4 + Sense 5.5 update today. OTA shortly. Thanks!

The update pushes the software and radio baseband to Build Number: 3.11.605.1 and Baseband: 1.13.41.0109_2. The update also adds new features such as:
A new menu that delivers quicker access to search and content sources by swiping from left side of the screen and performing a pinch-in gesture on the home screen > Access the Edit screen > Simply tap BlinkFeed ON and BlinkFeed OFF to turn off BlinkFeed instead of diving into menus.
A redesign of the Location Services options now features increased ease of use and improved battery conservation by showing the estimated battery use of each app, adding a “master switch” that turns all location settings on or off and lists which apps are using location services to find any errant apps that may be using them without obvious cues. A new profiles menu for Location Services has also been added with three new options:
- High accuracy (most battery use)
- Battery saving (least battery use)
- Device sensors (GPS only)
